A real Rotterdam spot for a spontaneous bite in a unique Rotterdam location.

Walking along the Hoerenloper towards Deliplein, Hamburg immediately catches your eye. No reservations, no hassle. Just walk in when you feel like eating something good. Chef and owner Guyon Pronk says that is exactly what makes the place special. Everyone feels welcome here. Young, old, quick bite or long dinner. It all fits. Hamburg is the place for a spontaneous burger stop, with fast service and a relaxed atmosphere.

Is it only burgers on the menu?
Guyon: “You might know us from the Witte de Withstraat. On Katendrecht we serve the same menu. And we have a large terrace that we use as much as possible. So besides gourmet burgers, filthy fries, salads and corn on the cob, we also serve homemade snacks and bitterballen. There are fish and chicken burgers as well, served with lettuce and vegetables. You can have a full meal here, but it is just as easy to grab something to go.”

So you can also just come for drinks?
“Absolutely. We have a wide range of drinks. From soft drinks, lager and craft beer to prosecco, wine and spirits. So you can also just come by for snacks and drinks. When the weather is nice, the terrace on the lively square fills up quickly. Inside there is plenty of space as well. Walking in spontaneously is completely normal here. Only groups of ten or more usually make a reservation.”

What makes your burgers special?
“We call them gourmet burgers because everything is about quality. Dutch beef, homemade sauces, fresh fries and buns from Jordy’s. No processed products. Everything is fresh and homemade. The meat is 100 percent natural and prepared daily. I dare to say these are the best burgers in Rotterdam. Try the Havana burger with a shot of brown rum on the side. But it is great without as well.”
